Hi
I am thinking of buying a '92 Mariner Magnum 40 4 cylinder 'limited edition' 2 stroke outboard. Haven't seen it yet, but have some pictures attached.
I appreciate I'll have to see it to know if it's worth buying (I'm not even sure it's running) but I'd value your expert opinions on
I'm also concerned it might be very heavy. Does anyone know what this engine weighs? Also, what is the advantage of four cylinder? Smoothness? Quiet? high Torque? Is it likely to use more fuel than a 2 cylinder?
Many thanks
Ben

- anything I should look out for when I look at the engine (ie things that are expensive to fix and common faults with such an engine
- anything that looks like it might be a problem from these photos
