Mariner 25hp 1982 water in gear lube

Hi ,all decided to to do gear lube change and found a little bit of water,where can I purchase a new seal kit ,u.k and how difficult is it to change,I am a car mechanic, but not not done a lot of work,on outboards,and roughly how long will it take to do,I think the first step is to obtain a service manual, so I need to get one of those as well,any help I would be truly great full, thank you,alan hi, just realised that there was no washer on the top lube screw,maybe I'll be lucky

Without a sealing washer on the vent screw, water will get in the LU. Parts can be had at most local dealers there or shipped to you from over here. Cost more tho. If the sealing washer dose not fix the leak you might have to replace the LU seals and be sure to check and or replace the sealing boot on the shift shaft along with the seals under the waterpump on the drive shaft.

Old washers stuck in the engine screw hole will cause leakage. Youtube.com has several videos on how to change lower unit oil.
