Help!

I'm trying to find a dealer who can supply a pair of cb points for a Mariner 20 from around the late 70s/early 80s. Been having extreme difficulty here in the UK and dealers struggle even to find the engine S/N.

Mariner 20 Outboard Engine,
Serial number 653 S 001076
Year of Manufacture - late 70s(?)/early 80s

The workshop Manual refers to the model as 20C(6A9) - whatever that means.

Can anybody provide some guidance or advise a source?

For anybody in The States this is worth a beer or three next time you're over here in London, England!! :p :p :p

Many Thanks, Guys,

1977, made by Yamaha. Mercury thoroughly pissed off Yamaha and all ties have been severed, so chances are pretty good that no Mercury dealer on Planet Earth will have a snowball's chance of helping anyhow. Go to a Yamaha dealer and get them. Should be the same as a 1977 20Hp Yamaha.

The 6A9 models came later and don't have points.

Thanks, WillyB.

So that explains why the parts were so elusive. Nothing like changing horses mid-stream to confuse pursuers. (Mixing metaphors?).

I have now got the parts on order from a dealer here in the UK (with no problems) and let's hope that when the post arrives they are the right size and shape!!

I'll keep in touch and let you know! :D

Many thanks, again.
