Strange as it sounds, I've had these engine refuse to run on particular brands of engine oil.... Changed the oil mixed with the fuel, and they start up fine. Also they are very particular about their spark plugs. Have you tried new plugs?

You mention compression and spark but don't say whether or not you are getting fuel. Does the bulb pump up and remain firm? Have you pulled a plug to see if it is wet? Alternatively, Pull the line going to the carbs and with a drain can, crank the engine and see if you get a good pulsating fuel flow.

yes i put the right plugs in it and their new . i can pump the primer ball till its hard i will check the hose under the carb tomorrow and i will crank it over it to see if the fuel pump is doing its job . i have put a full gasket set on the fuel pump springs and small pistons . if i inject petrol in the carb it will eventually start but runs uneven and revs are very high then it stops as if it runs out of fuel . i have taken every wire of and cleaned them put them back on .the fuel is fresh the petrol hoses are all new and the fuel tank is new the engine is a 1988-1989 60hp mariner electrics tilt auto lube serial of engine is 9522801 auto lube taken of i am doing 50-1 mix my self .carbs had a new gasket set fitted and cleaned . all 3 cylinders are 125 psi

..... if i inject petrol in the carb it will eventually start but runs uneven and revs are very high then it stops as if it runs out of fuel ....

Something not right with the fuel pump or the carbs.... The fact that it fires and runs says all the electrics and the ignition system are fine...

i checked the fuel pump mine is a funny one it does not have a bottom on it , the side of the engine is the bottom it has a hole in the block beside the piston it blows pressure out of it to work the pump . my carb is leaking when i pump the primer to a medium to hard pressure i did manage to start it but running all over the place . so it does look like a pump or carb problem
