Marine stereo problems

Hi,
I'm new here and need advice. I've read a lot on this forum but didn't find what I'm looking for.
Boat 22ft bay boat. Stereo is Jensen iPod/am/fm/sat ready style. Worked great for 2.5 yrs. Now it is only working sometime. Everything is normal with engine off. It sometimes works or shorts out at idle, however consistently shorts as throttle increases. No other accessories have issues(except for lowrance GPS puck). Sometime stereo remains with screen lit but no sound. But others it shuts off completely. Is this a faulty ground? Any advice would help.

Yes, I would suspect a faulty ground . . . and one that the ignition is using for its ground. I would attempt to find the ground wiring for the radio and re-wire accordingly.

Thanks. Is there an easy way to identify where the ignition is grounded. I have buss panel with ~7-8 switches so inside of center console has a lot of wiring.
