Has anyone had good luck with the Marine Sta-bil with ethanol fuel formulations. I was told it would prevent phase separation. Any thoughts on fuel additives. Sometimes my boat sits for weeks without use. Steve

I have never had any problems with straight OMC oil / gas mix, and no additive. Of course, fuel could be different at your local. I absolutely use Sta-bil in all four stroke motors. Stern drive - Motor scooter - Lawn mower.. etc. But I don't run the fuel out of my outboard motors. Just my experience.

How long do you keep your gas? Outboards normally burn right through gas and spending money on any additive is just wasting money. Unless you are leaving the same gas in the tank for over 90 days it is worthless.

Thanks Bob_VT I was just warned about leaving 85/15 ethanol for extended periods i.e 60 days plus in my 1990 XP150 Evinrude. Steve

Don't buy ethanol gas! Shop managers love it to give you an idea how bad it is. That is a quote from one. Sea foam is probably a little better engineered and I have had great luck w it clearing up rough idle. (Carb cleaner) and I do run it from time to time and I keep it in spare 6gal tank
