Not sure if this is the right section don't see this brand listed anywhere but. I have twin Marine power 454s with Rochester 4 barrels this boat has been sitting a long time so I am looking to replace the fuel pumps. Someone at some point upgraded it to electric fuel pumps currently has carter 4389BD Pumps. I do not know the current psi rating but when I look this pump up I see different psi ratings with the same model number and conflicting results on what psi I should be using with my current engine/setup. Also if anyone maybe knows a better pump I could be using any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks.

Those are typical electric pumps set up on carbed engines now. Should be 4-5 psi if working ok. Did u measure fuel pressure off them to carb? Whats the issue you are trying to solve .
here is a listing https://www.summitracing.com/parts/...MIhN-y1s-y9QIV5f7jBx3lEwAfEAQYASABEgLaxfD_BwE
Ok thanks did not test pressure everything's apart currently one doesn't work at all its stuck the other is loud boat hasn't ran in 7 years. So I am replacing the usual stuff previous owner did some shady work to it so I am going over everything.

Ok then make sure the pumps are wired through an oil pressure switch if they were added by homer simpson..

Mechanical fuel pumps were carter pumps

Electric pumps are carter pumps

Use either, however if you stay with electric, make sure they are wired correctly with an oil pressure switch like Scott mentioned

yea I've never had one set up like this before iI have to do some re wiring. I see the orig oil pressure switch then it T's off to a separate one looks like for the pump but has crappy spliced wires all over. One motor the pump runs all the time I am sure the switch is bad lot of troubleshooting to do.

Agreed on the mechanical fuel pumps, simple reliable and less expensive. Made to order for a Rochester carb. A home made pressurized fuel system is a accident in the making.

Below is a review from Summit, making a call to tech support to verify the issue would be prudent.

Original Pump lasted over 10 years in horizontal position. Second Pump lasted less than two years , but experienced only one tank of E-10 Gas. Call to Tech support reveals important changes to Installation practice .i.e. MUST be vertical mounting only. and 2) New few pumps don't generally "like" ethanol, especially if engine is left sitting idle for a long period of time. This mounting change will be major work in my boat. Ill do it and see how it all works out.

Yes to mechanical pumps if you can use them. The one I replaced a few years ago was 30 years old! No wiring, no oil pressure switches, etc. Works just fine with a carb engine.

Would love to go back to mechanical but I am not exactly sure where fuel pump would bolt up on these I will get some pictures of everything tomorrow. I don't want to end up looking like that picture above ahaha just put a new fuel tank in it was leaking so fuel system will be 100% fresh and sealed its a 250 gal tank.

Thanks for the help so far.

It would be at the front corner, passenger side if it were in a car, starboard side in a boat. I think you could use a mechanical pump up to model year 1990, 91 and up you had to use electric.
