kmui781, welcome to iboats!:)

An IAC (idle air control valve) is found on engine models that utilize a fuel injected system and they have moved it's location around over the years such as either on the throttle body itself or just off to the side of the throttle body.

To better help you find it's location and the correct parts diagram to your engine model, it would be best for you to find and post your Mercruiser engine serial number as anything else would just a be guess at this time.

Also I'm going move your topic up to the Mercruiser I/O & Inboard Engines & Outdrives for additional help.

The serial number is: 1G402369
Are you sure that is your correct serial number as that number is coming up as an Service Literature for MISCELLANEOUS REMAN 383 MAG STROKER BRAVO REMAN -
PARTS CATALOGS
  • 884717006 - 383 Mag Stroker-Remanufactured
  • 8M0085881 - 383 Mag Stroker Bravo-Reman

Not a 4.3l V6 engine. The G in the number might be questionable.

What year is the engine and do you know if it's carbureted or fuel injected? If not, try posting a photo of the top of engine both with the flame arrestor plastic cover on and removed. http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=mercruiser+flame+arrestor+plastic+cover&FORM=HDRSC2

Also what problems are you having to suspect a failed IAC?
