What do you experts think is the best way of helping to prevent parts siezing up ? EG - the propshaft bearing carrier (Honda 9.9) - both the bolts and the actual carrier outside edges ?

For fasteners I coat bolt threads with Permatex Super "300" Form-A-Gasket Sealant, Item #80057, 83H. The stinky brown material coats the threads to a tarry consistency, preventing rust and keeping the fasteners from vibrating loose.

It was recommended by my mechanic for everything but torque critical fasteners, like head bolts. For those he recommends the proper Loctite formulation for the application.

I use Amsoil Water Resistant Grease in my jet unit, wheel bearings, and all of the grease zerks.

Don't expect greased fasteners to remain fastened due to vibration.
