marine gps wont turn on

So we received our new garmin gps 720s in the mail and went to install it today. After connecting the wires the thing won't turn on... It is connected to the fuse panel. Tried it on another connection and still wont turn on. I don't know what to do. Is there a way to reset them? Theres only one button on it and obviously doenst do much :-(

Go directly to the battery with the positive and negative leads and try it. You may just have a bad ground or positive connection. You do have a fuse (a good one) in the positive line?

Yes I have a fuse in the positive line... I will try directly to the battery tomorrow. I really hope it works. thanks
