We went to the marina a couple of years ago and I had this collapsible wagon I got online. That freaking thing wore my a## out taking all of our stuff to the boat. It did not work in rough terrain either. The handle is also way too short for people of Sasquatch stature. So I decided to build my own beach/fishing/marina cart. I had a cargo carrier that had not been used in years. So I ordered a set of beach wheels and scavenged around the fu##ed pile behind the shed for some steel and aluminum scraps I had been hoarding over the years an I came up with this: This is the BeachCart 3000 prototype 1.0. I welded the rear truck and added an aluminum axle. I didn’t want to go too crazy on the front steering system and I only had the weekend to build it so I just used a caster off of an old gang box I had laying around. I removed the wheel and added an aluminum axle as well. It will probably need a little tweaking here and there. I had my wife pull me around on it (I’m about 260#) and she could not stop laughing, she really liked it. I had to get it ready for out gulf trip this Wednesday so we will see how it works out. Not too shabby for for a makeshift shop which consisted of a easy up canopy, a Rubbermaid flat cart, a cheap harbor freight welder, a 4” grinder, a cordless drill and a shitload of drill bits and some welding clamps. About 8 hrs of work spanning two days. Attached are some pics.
