Each year, more than half a million people gather in the streets of Galveston Island to participate in the largest Mardi Gras celebration in Texas. For 12 days and 11 nights the island is electrified by the sounds of live music, spectacular parades, elaborate masked balls, and flamboyant costumes. This year, Mardi Gras! Galveston salutes American patriotisim with "Mardi Gras! Galveston: Red, White, and Blue," January 28, 2005 thru Fat Tuesday, February 8, 2005.<br /><br />More than 30 bands will captivate spectators on two grand stages located in the heart of the Bud Light Entertainment District. <br /><br />Today's parades are at noon and six with over 70 floats and bands galore.<br /><br />Parade Cam<br />

<br /><br />It'll start getting wild on the Strand a little later this afternoon.<br /><br />Don't believe the weather on the Strand cam it's actually going to be 64 degrees today. <br /><br />Well me and the Mr. are going bead divin from our Krewe's float on the Seawall. The Krewe will BBQ on the float, we have a wind break in case we need it and best of all we have a porta can on the back of the float. We parked the float early Thursday morning and have a great spot.
