Anyone familiar with Marathon boats? Would appreciate any knowledge/experience re quality, things to look for, etc. Am looking at an older {1989} 21ft. cuddy cabin. Like the style/configuration, but don't know anything about reputation.

Re: Marathon boats

Marthon boats were built in Kershaw, SC, labor rates were cheap , the molds were orginally a company called Reinell or Fiberform I have forgot which. Marthon sold a large number of boats in the late 80s. They were in the same class as Bayliner back in those years, cheap materials and normally to small of a engine for that size boat. Some of the 21 ft Marthons had a listing problem due to back workmanship. The layout of the 21 ft was nice. You don't say where you will use it, if it's a fresh water lake ok, if coastal I would look for something else. Good Luck.

Fourplay: Thanks very much. Exactly the type of factual, informed feedback I needed. Don't want to bug you, but do you know about Cruiser's Inc? {My use is coastal}.
