Are the Seloc and Intertec manuals for Merc's any better than the sucky Clymer's I bought for my Merc 500 4-cyl 50 hp blue-stripe with Thunderbolt ignition? I forget the serial # but remember than when I posted it with Merc they told me it was a 72-75. Anyway, the Clymer's manual just doesn't show me enough basic stuff, like a diagram of engine showing thermostat, carbs, fuel pump/filter, etc. I want to do my own tune-ups and maintenance within reason, but this manual is NO HELP unless you are a Merc mechanic.
