Manual wrong??

I'm really confused. My Seloc book says disconnect #1 & #2 accel links from ball joints. Disconnect link joint and adjust the accelerator link to 5.571" center to center. A few steps down it says to adjust length of accelerator link to 1.97"
I'm guessing that the accelerator links are the 2 vertical rods connecting the carbs.
My problem is that none of my existing lengths are even close to what they are saying.
1. What is the measurement center to center on the throttle control link rod that connects the magneto control lever to the accelerator cam?
2. What is the measurement of the 2 carb link rods.
I think part of the problem is that the text does not match the text caption in the pictures. Plus I don't believe the measurements are correct.
Please help if possible.
Thanks

Re: Manual wrong??

That's one reason we all recommend OEM Manuals, Finley.

Sorry I can't help with the dimensions. :(

Sorry. I didn't realize a carbed V-6 was that diificult. Yes, I really would like to have a OEM manual, but I don't.
Thanks anyway.

Re: Manual wrong??

They are not the links between the carbs. They are the links to the throttle cam and the stator on most V-6's Your model only has the cam link ( shorter link) since the computer does the timing. If the carbs go wide open with full throttle, then it is correct.
