Manual Tilt

1960 Johnson outboard VS4. Have the service manual, but can't find anything on manual tilt. The whole manual doesn't seem to be in any specific order, so I do a lot page flipping. I found a "L" handle on the starboard side of the mount that goes thru to the port, but that looks like it might be for the angle of the motor, not the full tilt. Any ideas?

looking at the front of the motor down low by the steering hookup there might be a small lever to unlock the tilt.<br /><br />good luck<br /><br />------------------<br />no replacement for displacement!

Found a little hal broke tab with a thin cable attached to it. Can't pull it. Seems stuck. Looks like the right place though.
