Manual tilt settings

Hey guys, I was wondering about the pin position for my manual tilt on my 115hp motor.
My friend says that if I put the pin closer to the transom that the motor will push the bow higher while running but I think it will push the bow down into the water more.

Which is it?

You are correct, the further under the boat you angle the lower unit, the more the bow goes down.
