Manual T&T to Power T&T swap?

Howdy fellas, just grabbed this outboard with manual T&T. It has that single "assist" type cylinder on the bracket. So, I'd like to swap it out for power T&T. It appears to my rookie eyes that this should be a direct unbolt and bolt up sort of change over.

My question is, should I be hunting for the whole assembly...

...or just the ram set up...

Is one swap job easier than the other? What would you guys recommend?

Thanks in advance:)

If I remember correctly, the manual steering tube does not have the mount for the ram. To do what you want I believe you need the whole assembly.

I don't believe a straight switch will work like that. You will probably have to find a compatible assembly if you want to go OEM. That can get pricey too but there are usually many options. I went with the after market CMC PT-130 which is also pricey but well worth the investment imo. Panther also makes an aftermarket unit. To save some change you can always get the set up with out the gauge as I did. Saves a couple of hundred and boats are pretty easy to trim by feel. Just my .02
