My new Osco manifolds and risers from ebasicpower.com have arrived and I am taking a day off work next week to do the job. I do most of the maintenance and any thing else I can do on the boat, but this will be a first for me. I did some browsing and found the tip about using a longer bolt with the head cut off to make installing the manifold easier, and about making sure all mating surfaces are clean and flat. Does anyone have any other tips/advise for a person who has never R&Red manifolds and risers before? Thanks in advance.

I had a pipe plug causing an interference between my Merc manifold and the 3elbow, which I didn't see at first.
Do a fit-check before bolting down the elbows.

I had no issues mounting my manifold/risers from ebasic a few weeks ago. Kit included everything I needed. You can check the mating surfaces for being flush, but Osco's aren't generally the ones with issues, the GLM's are the ones with the casting issues.
