What is the point of all of the plugs on my manifolds? They require a 3/8 extension to remove, no socket. There are a few of them. Are they there to just drain water or are there for some features I don't have?

Re: Manifold Plugs

Most screw in and core plugs are for access for machining the parts when being manufactured.

Not know actually which ones we are discussing I will add they are made with sand molds. This allows once they are poured, the holes allow the sand to be poured out and they are tapped for plugs. Newer technology has allowed less holes but still some remain due to different configurations.

Ayuh,.... They could be core plugs, or possibly plumbin' options, or Both, dependin' on the manifolds,...

Re: Manifold Plugs

I had a set of manifolds that had all the pipe thread fittings removed and replaced with brass plugs.Made for easy removal and draining.also was great access for cleaning .Charlie
