Manifold Bolts/Studs

I have an early 90s Mercruiser 3.0 that I had to change the exhaust/Intake manifold. Mine was attached w 5 Bolts and did not have the 3 studs the book shows, can I replace them w new grade 8 bolts rather than the studs? Im having trouble finding the mercruiser studs and the wait is weeks to special order them.

Yes.

Just coat the threads with Permatex #3 (aviation)

The studs just make it a little easier to hang the manifold...

I got a couple of pieces of threaded rod I can use to guide it on and hold it while I get the rest of the bolts in.
