Had a few midweek days in the mid 70's (but alas, have that job thing). April was a total washout. May is shaping up no better, so far. Next few days rain and overcast, windy and in the low 60's . . . about to start raining again any minute.

Last season I was on the water by March 20th!

60 degree air temp at 35 mph calculates to "still too cold for boating" for these old bones

Got all my gear, radio, speakers etc. back on the boat back in March. Got the trailer inspected, bought two new tires for the trailer . . .

And here I sit, staring out the window at this really nice, yet very lonely boat that just keeps staring back at me . . . Sigh!

Please Lord, ENOUGH WITH THE CLOUDS AND COLD WEATHER ALREADY . . . . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VWBSFeB7WIk&feature=related

It's 43? and the wind is rattling the windows. MN opener today. I couldn't imagine being on the lake. Given our situation and the reasons above minus the tornado and flooding, my boat is STILL in storage. Hope to go get it next week. Supposed to be in the 60's and sunny. At least the snow quit.......

Who has time to go boating anyway? Seems I spend most of my time mostly sweeping the water in my basement into the sump hole

Rained here like Hell last night and looks like rain for the next 5 days again. No one's going to be complaining about water shortages here this Summer!

Too bad too because this is exactly the weeks that the Stripers are on their spawning run up the Hudson River. It's only 10 minutes from my house. But the currents running so fast lately, that I fear I would cast out a herring, take a little snooze and end up swept out into the open ocean which is about 4 hours South of me !

Same weather in Tuscarawas Valley , Basement wet , run off ditch a creek,Horse needs swimming lessons ,feet are getting webs between toes like golden retriever , 250' deep of sand and gravel just down road so I guess this might have been normal ? I'm adding heater core and fan to my boat next !

Well, I'm here in NE and we have mucho rain coming today thru Thursday. I'm going in after Labor Day. Where I live in CT the water is usually cold in May and June and we get a lot of fog off the ocean with the warmer air coming in so we don't rush it, anymore! It's not worth it if you can't see where you're going. I'll still be at the dock of course and will take any breaks in weather I can get!

Ya, but once the weather turns nice again you will still be smack in the middle of boating heaven around that Mystic Harbor area!

What a coincidence, I just ordered one of those 25 year old Blondes from Russia "to keep my boat warm" :D :) :D

What the Heck??? I thought everybody that lived up north loved cold weather?... and shouldn't y'all be used to it by now? 55*F is tank top and short pants weather up there, isn't it?

If it's any consolation to y'all, we had one of the earliest spings down here in the southeast I can remember. We were catching Crappie in February in places we don't usually catch them until April... and in April we were having 80*F+ days.

I have a tan that people would pay $100's for in one of those tanning salons, and all I did was go outside!

Y'all cheer up, your 2 weeks of summer will be there soon!

We do love the cold winters! its this inbetween chit that sucks, this rain and cool temps is eating into our short boating season (our 2 weeks of summer is being reduced) it sucks!

I was able to get out on the water once so far this season, and it wasnt a great outing, broke my prop by hitting an under water island or rock in 30 feet of water after about 20 minutes on the water.

Well look at it this way, at least you're giving all the good fishermen a break from having the water churned to a frickin' froth around them!;)

... or you can put on your snowmobile suits, gloves, and helmets and get out there and giv'er!

My avatar pic was taken in January, I'm wearing an Arctic Armor suit... it's like a snowmobile suit, but it will float my dumb butt if I should ever happen to fall in the frigid water. There was shore ice out to 20' deep water in the back waters that day and it was pretty chilly, but that didn't stop me from getting out on the water and enjoying myself.;)

Y'all put on some clothes and pack something hot to eat and drink, go out and have some fun... it's not that bad!:p

Same story here in Wisconsin.... Cold, wet, overcast, and windy. This has got to be the absolute worst spring I can remember. Last Memorial Day we were out and swiming in 78 degree water, I havent even touched the boat this season yet. Cant see a reason to, every nice day we get is followed by 5 crappy ones. I'm hoping that there is a long hot summer somewhere ahead of us because this weather is killing my boating mood.
