When I go to page 3 of the "ill informed boat knowledge" thread in the "Boat Topics and Questions (not engine topics)" section I get this warning:

Danger: Malware Ahead!
Google Chrome has blocked access to this page on forums.iboats.com.
Content from cm.netseer.com, a known malware distributor, has been inserted into this web page. Visiting this page now is very likely to infect your computer with malware.
Malware is malicious software that causes things like identity theft, financial loss, and permanent file deletion. Learn more

That's the only time I've gotten that message here, and it didn't do it on page 2 of that thread.

Do either of you guys getting the message use an ad blocker? I do use one, wonder if that might be the difference in why I don't see it.

Hey Guys if it happens again, can you take a "print screen" of the page you're on and share it here. I have yet to see this warning message.

From the original post above.
Danger: Malware Ahead!

Did some checking and found this from NetSeer Contextual Targeting Seems they were hacked, and all has now been fixed with their site.

Also Google cm.netseer.com and look at all that comes up.

I imagine it has been fixed by now? Anyone else still getting this error message?

According to the site I linked to, it was fixed by 9:30 AM Pacific time this morning.

Re: Malware warning on "ill informed boat knowledge" thread

The netseer message makes sense. I don't want to muddy up the water here, but I got that Chrome malware warning a few weeks ago on another forum I frequent. I've been using that forum for about 15 years with no events. I closed everything down, then after a few minutes decided what the heck and opened it back up to see if it happened again and nothing happened.

That site runs a kind of archaic software that hasn't noticeably changed for years as far as I can tell. They also run a lot of ads. I quit using Ad blocker there because it made the site run weird, namely I would have to hit the Back button 2 or 3 times to get to the previous page. Sometmes 2, sometimes 3, but never just 1. (Maybe too much information.) If toneeees or somebody is interested, here's the section of the site I use: HawkeyeReport.com - Message Boards

Ads and tracking are the lifeblood of internet forums so there are always going to be mischievous types trying to hack them. Life on the web.

Has anyone actually seen the ad? Can you tell me what it looks like? IE is it image or text or a combo... what does it say?
Thanks,
Curt
