I have a friend who has a 'Twin Vee' boat with 2 Yamaha 4 stroke engines (200hp?) and has had problems since installation.

The problem is that the oil level is going UP! When the oil is changed it is on the middle line and then after about 10 hours usage it goes up to the top line?

If we dont change the Oil it will eventually start coming out of the dipstick hole. The engineer says this is normal?

Surely not??? Please help. The only other information available is that there is an issue that the props may be too big.

Thanks

Re: Making Oil!

This has been pretty common on the Yamaha and Mercury 4 strokes, Simon.

The rings are not fully seated and the engine is running too cool (thus too rich). Excess fuel is getting by the rings and diluting the oil.

Yamaha says: new thermostats and run the engine hard to fully seat the rings.

Good luck. :)
