First things first... :welcome: to iboats. Great to have a new iboater join us...

As for your unique dimensioned bunk board, are you reading it with carpet on it? That would give you that odd measurement. If you can buy two and make them and if you have some way to cut it down, that would work as well. Or even build up with plywood to get your measurement. I never heard of 3 x anything though. Post a picutre and let us see your situation...

If I were going to use 2 boards side by side, I would want to laminate them to prevent moisture from collecting/sitting between them.

Is a 4x8 out of question for some reason?

thank you for the welcome! been lurking for a few weeks...just picked up my boat last week.
I measured with no carpet. I cut the end of the bunk carpet and measured from inside the carpet.

I've seen other boards this size while googling (https://www.easternmarine.com/magic-tilt-carpeted-cypress-boat-trailer-bunk-board-pt5150).

i would use a 4x8 @ 10 foot long if I could but I can't find a 4x8 anywhere! (lowes, home depot, local lumber yard)

go to a boat trailer store and get boat trailer bunk boards. you wont find that at any home improvement store. usually the wood is cypress.

Cyprus wood is very very weather and rot resistant. I have lots of it that I bought years ago to make Adirondack chairs. I got it at such a fantastic price from a local lumber yard that I bought lots of it. At least a 100 board feet or more if I remember now. While I did make a lot of Adirondack chairs, I still have some left over to make more too. The chairs I built have been out in the weather since I built them many many years ago, and not one issue with rot anywhere. I used stainless steel hardware so they would rust either.

If you can't find the proper size lumber, you could always built up your bunks with standard size lumber, glued up with plywood to make them. Just be sure to use a good exterior glue like Titebond III, or even epoxy if that is your choice. If you go the Titebond route, make absolutely sure it is their Titebond III offering. That glue IS water proof.

3x_'s definitely do exist, though it's usually PT. Often used as whalers in retaining walls. You will not find this at HD/Lowe's etc. Go to a real lumber yard. They'll have what you need, and if they don't they can usually get it pretty fast. One sheet of 1 1/8" will get you what you need, glue (as mentioned above, Titebond III only, or epoxy etc.) three layers together...

so i used a Pressure treated 6x6 and cut it down to 6x3.
then i cut down the scrap piece to 2x3.
i glued and nailed the 2x3 on top of the 6x3 and then cut it at an angle for my dead rise(?).
put carpet around it and bolted it up! I took the boat out the next day and so far so good!

however, ill likely have the marina replace both boards this winter with a proper setup when i take the boat in to get winterized.
