Well Mother Nature was finally good to me and my crew. I got to take the Toon out for the Maiden voyage yesterday and it was a blast well after it finally turned over and started. I let my dad start the boat and show me how to back it away from the dock the proper way. I've been around boats all my life but have never owned one myself so I let the old man show me a few things that he has learned over the years. after I backed her down into the water my dad thinks he chocked the motor too many times and she flooded (reason is his 75hp mercury you have to push the chock in 2-4 times and he did that to mine) after about 10 mins we tried again and she finally started, WOW what a relief the wife would have been really mad if I told her i had to take it to the shop before i even got it in the water after the initial test run when i bought it. but all in all it was a great ride. I'm heading out again next weekend for the lake and some fishing. life is good..The Capt. .IMG_0071.jpg IMG_0070.jpgIMG_0076.jpgIMG_0069.jpgIMG_0072.jpg

couple of things i need to order / buy a new fender. I'll be ordering some of the ez fender holders that I've found on this site they seem to be pretty solid construction and easy to adjust when needed. I picked up a compass from west marine today and I'll be picking up a new radio for my toon since the current one barely works. Hope everyone else is getting out there on the water and having fun like I am.

Re: Maiden Voyage

the lake for the maiden voyage was Lake Marion. but I'll be mostly on Lake Moultrie which is the third largest lake in South Carolina that covers over 60000 acres. I will venture out to an island called Capers Island drop my crab pots over on friday morning camp on the island for the weekend and pick them up on sunday.
