Hello all, New to the forum and I hate to do this on my very first post but I've got a question I can't seem to find an answer to:
I've got an 08 Mercury Optimax (115) that came with nonmagnetic oil drain, vent and fill level screws in the lower unit. I'd like to replace one or all with magnetic drain screws to pick up any metal shavings that might be in the lower unit oil but I'm not sure it's safe to replace the nonmagnetic screws with magnetic screws and I haven't been able to find a replacement part number for magnetic screws.
Can or should it be done and if so, anyone know where I can purchase magnetic drain screws?
