Hi everyone, Im looking at purchasing a magma grill. My question is what attachment bracket would you purchase for my fourwinns 180? I have scotty rod holders and from looking at magma grills they do sell brackets for fish holders, not sure about the plastic surface mount ones I have installed. There must be 6 different brackets you can buy, but with the 180 there is not much railing options or room at all. Any help me with this?

Magma makes a clamp on holder that I used to clamp on the back cleat of the boat. It worked pretty good. Now I use the fishing rod holder mount;different boat.

thank you for your help. You just screw the bracket on the boat or is that a fish rod holder already in place.

I've got the flush mount with an extension rod. Works great for me. I'll have to see if I can find a picture.

I've got the round Magma grill pictured. Have burned the living hell out of myself repeatedly trying to juggle the lid (when I manage to get it lit) in even the calmest waters. I'm going to the square one with the hinged lid and donating the round one to Poseidon's next barbeque. I hate it.

The lid has a metal disk in the center of it on the inside that you use to hang it on the edge of the grill. Works fine.

I use the fishing rod holder mount...works great and no extra fitting needed on the boat.

This photo is a good example of where not to mount the BBQ. Mount it as far away as possible from the fuel fill and and more importantly, the fuel vent

Love mine. I use the little round holder like has been shown in the above picks. Great grill and really cooks food fast. Does blow out occasionally but once warm stays lit. Be sure to always put the safety cable for the lid on. That way it will never end up on the bottom of the lake.

Interesting comments. Which version do you have? Mine is about 5 years old and I think it is the Magma II (??)version. The lid is hinged. Just lift it via the handle?? With the way I've got mine mounted I can adjust it for the wind. The installed lighter works great, never had a problem.

Re: magma grill and attachments

I have not decided on the round or rectagler as of yet. I like the round because of its size, but cooking on anything round could have its problems. I have flush mounted "off the shelf" scoty rod holders already installed, I hope they will be strong enough to hold the bbq.
