have a 1986 m70a2 with bad transmission rod,will sell whole motor,unable to find the transmission rod for gears,or will part out

yes i know have tried,one on ebay for 500 plus shipping,,no thanks,reason for wanting to sell,all other parts run great.

Do you mean the rod that shifts fwd/rev/neutral? If it's just a rod with some bends and threads on each end, I wonder if a local machine shop can make one for you at a price that makes it financially feasible?

It would be the last straw for that nice engine to stay stranded at terra firme by such an insignificant simple metal part.

got the shaft redone,now having problem with when start it always is turning prop,have tried to adjust but to no success

You apparently are not in neutral. Get that adjusted.

thats problem can't find it,only short distance on shift rod
