It's been a while since I've done an outboard waterpump but as i remember, it's straight forward. Pull the leg bolts, slide the leg out, swap out the WP parts. reverse the process.
I've never worked on a Tohatsu before. Anything I should know/watch for going in?
Anybody got a good source for an inexpensive shop manual for this (1990) motor?
Input appreciated.
This motor is MINT and it seems to be pumping in an almost steady stream with the origional . I just want to have peace of mind.

You got it. Not too difficult. Sometimes the driveshaft will be jammed in the crankshaft. If so, patience gets it out. Tohatsu sells a water pump kit that includes the pump cup and the wear plate. If low hours and clean water, probably just want the impeller, though. We do these in Buffalo, NY all the time.

Release the shift rods through the port. Service manuals are available from any Nissan or Tohatsu dealer.
