Lure - one eye's??

Was down on the Wisconsin River in the Prairie Du Chien vacinity and was talking to some locals about the Walleye patterns below the dam and more than once the One-Eye came up as the most popular choice. One of the old timers brought me out to his truck and showeed me what they looked like but, i was too involved in asking other questions and forgot to ask where to buy them - DUH!<br /><br />got up and searched a bunch of catalogs then jumped on-line with no success so far.<br /><br />any one heard of these things and know where to buy them? ... they're an oblong lead bodied jigging spoon type of bait and come in a few different sizes from 1/2 to 1oz.(+) with two eyelets front and back. You tie to the front eyelet - trebele hooks on both front and back.<br /><br />?? anyone ??

thanx for lookin' MY .. but its a bit different than that .. totally flat, probably 1/8"-3/16" thick soft lead body( I was able to bend it with just my fingers so it is apparently molded not stamped ..<br /><br />altho that looks to be a good spoon for snap jigging..<br /><br />thnx MY

All right..I got some of these beauties along with some other useless stuff on a ebay purchase..<br /><br />I was told they are used mainly for striper and salmon huntn..I have about three or four of them..<br />Has a backward look..Only one eye..<br />Will take some pics and show you soon..if ya like you can have em..

thnx GF .. one thing i forgot to mention is the few that the ole' timer showed me had a hammered silver willow leaf flutter on the rear split ring .. but if you have a pic that'd be great ..<br /><br /><br />"one eye wiggler" ...yea i chuckled a bit too .. <br /><br />Just noticed this .."Was down on the Wisconsin River ..." should've read Mississippi.

You can add anything you want to it..was it thin..one side had one eye and a spoon look the other side was just a flash inverted??

Barlow..What they have done is put a treble hook at other end to and add some flutter..The other side of this is semi flat and has flash to it..<br /><br />Most will add color to lure depending on day..I think this it it..<br /><br />

thnx GF, but still aren't the bait. They're molded (poured) lead with what appears to be a wire loop insert such as this -

that forms the eyelets.<br /><br />aww heck with it .. thanks guys for the time but, I'll be goin' back down this weekend so I should be able to find 'em in one of the local shops there -if not- sonars, zips, hopkins, buck-shots and jigginn' raps will be on the weapons list.<br /><br />thanx again guys!

Have just been out a couple of times since ST Clair..Went to a small gator Lake to tune my lures.<br /><br />Leavn Monday to hook up with MellowYellow in upper New York for some gator huntn for a few days..<br /><br />Going to fish the Niagra for some gators then up to Lk. Ontario for some Salmon and Trout fishn..<br /><br />Brother is going somewhere in Canada to do some Moose huntn in Oct...They will be on an island but will also have a boat for fishn..I may go with him and hunt the warrior..

thnx Nate in AR but nope not them .. thnx for lookin' tho<br /><br />sounds like you're going to have a good trip GF!<br />just been dinkin' around here in a few smaller lakes lately and nothing to talk about for sure .. few Eye's for the pan but nothing worth mentioning.<br /><br />goin' back down to the Mississppi tonight and tomarrow to test the waters in hopes of some good Sauger/Eye action .. but we'll see .. don't expect much. taking the project boat down for its first adventure so it'll be fun regardless of fish ... i hope.<br /><br />good luck in getting the 'big girls' to come out an play while up with MY ..<br />-barlow

<br /><br /><br />well, I finally remembered to get these things on here.<br /><br />I had a few of these that needed to be re-hooked and touch-up painted from the rocks and snapped a couple pics so you guys didn't think I was totally off my rocker. <br /><br />Not done with the final touch yet that being the yellow paint droplet for the eye(s).. <br />I'm not messin' with the other three colors.. <br /><br />they come in 5-larger sizes and 2-smaller in a bunch of color combos and solids.<br /><br />
