Friend of mine suggested that I try some hot-n-tots or michigan stingers when I go up north soon.
They say the eyes love em.
Wondering if if any of you have tried these.. I still think success rate depends on who is at other end of line...

Re: lure choice

Hi, GF.

Hot 'n' Tots work pretty well if the color is right for the water you are fishing. Never ttried a MI Stinger.

My favorite crankbait for 'eyes is a Bagley's DDKB2. In firetiger for LOTW and shiner for clear water. It goes deepest of any diver I have used. They are hard to find but I have a dozen I got from a GOB sale. Want one? It also drives esox followers crazy.

I also like my Esox Doom for big 'eyes and big smallies. It is a Mepps #5 Aglia front end with tandem #2 trebles, each with a spinnerbait skirt. I like green and chartreuse or firetiger skirts.

Keep your line wet. :)

You might find one at Reed's in Walker.

The DB2 is also good (2" Deep Bee), but the DDKB2 (2" Deep Diving Killer Bee) is the ticket. It has a slimmer body and I have nailed 'eyes and smallies as deep as 18-20' with it. 8 to 15lb spectra braid or Power Pro let it go deepest.

If you don't find one, let me know when you return.
