On my best fishing shirt even.... Jug fell off transom and I caught it, but squirted it a stripe right down my chest.

Whats the best way to get it out so I can be FULLY equipped for fishing?

Buy a new shirt then buy a new boat to match the new shirt....... I am sure the wife would understand!!

Actually.....stains are character!

It's no longer your best fishin' shirt, now it's your workin' on the boat and truck shirt, mowing and weedeating the grass shirt, and eating spaghetti and chili shirt.

Your second best fishin' shirt is now your best fishin,' shirt 'til you buy a new best fishin' shirt.

Oh no no no, a new shirt will just not do. THIS shirt is the shirt of ages and has "had me covered" on numerous glorious occasions. It MUST be returned to full operating (and smelling) status soon.

You think Shout would get the stank and stain out JB? I'll give that a try.

At a risk or ruining your already ruined shirt, I would suggest getting some Awesome available at Dollar General. Imediately wash it after you spray.....50/50 chance...

Brake parts cleaner will remove the grease and possibly any printing or coloring on the shirt.Over the years,I've heard brake cleaner is like dry cleaning chemicals.Naturally, the shirt would have to be laundered afterwords.Use at your own risk, good luck.

Take notes, first use waterless hand cleaner, rubbing in. second let set a day or two, third treat with spray and wash or era, rub in. Might leave a light stain but should remove 95% of it. Did this on work shirts when would get black grease on shirts at work. Wife hated me to wear stained shirts this would wrk. Then started wearing nothing but black shirts took care of problem.

If Shout won't do it, CLR will. Good luck. I appreciate the "best fishing shirt" status. My BFS is a 30 year old Columbia. I once turned around and drove 300 miles back to a motel to retrieve her.

Once when going out West with an Astro van full of kidlets, I lost the rear transmission seal. You don't run an Astro spraying tranny fluid on the cat converter unless yer a complete idiot. (there are some, and some of them have fewer children now because of it.)

Changed the seal in a parking lot, and got grease on my t-shirt doing it. Wife asked how to get it out. I said, "spray brake cleaner on it."

.............so she spread the shirt out on the asphalt parking lot and soaked it with brake cleaner.

I wonder if a "my favorite fishing shirt" thread with pics is in order :D because it seems many of us have one, including my self... Matter of fact I wore it fishing yesterday and we caught us 2 nice 22" redfish....

To be fully effective, a BFS has to have a companion best fishing bucket hat*. Had to replace my 30 year old bucket hat this year. :(

* A ball cap will do if you have a full head of hair that covers your ears or if you don't fish in a southern sun.
