This going to be all over the news tomorrow as it was on the radio here in the pacific NW today.

Before someone starts a troll I might as well. I’m not doing this to argue with anyone. It’s my point of view and my opinion. I will not come back here and argue.

I will say this before going on.
If he comes out tomorrow with an example of something he saw that made him change his mind about Iraq and it is valid, then he is going about it the wrong way. But he already knows that also.

He wants to make a political statement and hopes the media will make the military look bad and keep his sorry arse out of prison.

Remember that it was he who contacted several anti Bush groups. Not the other way around. Not In Our Name being just one.

A good friend of his says he is a very nice guy and up to this point, a good Officer.
He has been trying to talk his friend out of doing to this for a long time.

Lt Ehren Watada joined the military as enlisted after we invaded Iraq. He knew the deal going into it.

He then applied for OCS in his field. Six months, not a 90 day wonder. For this he owed the Army another 3 years. He knew that also going in.

The media might say he tried to resign his commission but they wouldn’t let him DUH! Read above! But I bet they don’t say that.

He is a well trained Battery Firing Line Officer.
Think about the men he has trained with so long. Now that they are leaving, a major part of their team is missing. His second in command a NCO will have to take his place. And someone his place all down the line.

The military works on team work, not just a chain of command.

Yes they can and might pull another LT to take his place, but now it’s a brand new leader who no one has worked with.

What a POS this man is!
Btw another lie of his that the media will most likely quote. “I don’t want to drop artillery shells on innocent people”. Lt Watada and our media both know this but I bet they won’t tell the American people!

The military hasn’t dropped artillery shells in at least 18 – 24 months.

We still have them there if needed, but haven’t used them. This unit is just replacing bodies.

Yes I’m a little closer to this issue my friends here at iboats.

I had never heard of this dirt bag before today. (06-06-2006).

But Mrs.Link and I went to JAG out at Ft Lewis Monday to update powers of attorney and wills. I now know that these were guys worked for him. (because of their unit patches) They were talking about the “LT”. What was going to happen to him. Most really did not care. They were more concerned about his replacement.

I only put 2 & 2 together today when they had the story on 570-KVI about 10 hours ago.

I have cleaned the potty mouth words of the email I sent to the host of the show for iboats!

As the host did also for being on the air!

I can tell you this, my wife had tears come to her eyes with all the support for her. I did not expect it to be read on the radio.

I really don't think he needs to be shot. Life in prison works for me but I was ticked at the time.

------------------------------------------------------------------
John
I don’t think my wife voted for President Bush.
But she is also an Officer in the Military Reserves.
She just got a 21 day notice last week to ship out to Iraq.
Are we happy about this? H3ll no!
It’s turned our lives upside down.
Did she try to resign because of politics? NO! Her team depends on her!
She leaves in 19 days
As part of the Military this is just what you do.
Shoot that Chicken Sh#t Busstard

V/R
Link in Lakewood
----------------------------------
Told Ya'll I cleaned it up! :D

After my Active Army career this just get added to a list of sad responses.

I hope the UCMJ deals out his fate.

I have seen people jailed for less.

I guess I am not surprised.

I tend to agree with ya Link.
when ya sign up you are made aware of the drill.
I was not real fond of a lot of the decisions that were made for me but never balked at them.
while I can respect that Lt's decision I will also respect the decisions of the military tribunal and the UCMJ at his trail.
if he wishes to protest then do your duty, resign your commision then protest, Kerry did it. but if your so angry at this Lt how come there is no anger that our CiC bailed on his duties during a time of war ?
isnt signing up then failing to show up about the same and refusing to go ?
he may get a shot in a civilian court but my guess it will be some years down the road after he is done with the military court.
there are many both in politics and in the general population that did their duty, served when called and protested AFTER the service. a totally legitimate process in my opinion.
I think if he truly thought actons were Illegal he would go and serve and document the evidence.
my guess is he is now terrified.
he should have followed his daddies example and joined the peace corp.
