Looking at updating a few things on my boat, mainly the electronics and adding a guage. I am looking at lowrance as the supplier of the upgrades. Here is what I am thinking of going with....

Lowrance HDS5x
Lowrance LMS-200 Digital Guage
Lowrance fuel sending sensor
Lowrance fuel flow sensor
Lowrance Trim Tab sensor

Possibly the structure scan sonar as well.

I am looking for feedback from you fellow Iboats members as to the Guage and how acurate it is. I need to figure out a better way to track my fuel usage and I think this is it. Also I want it to be compatable with my Sonar. I already have a garmin GPS so I don't need that feature to be included in the new unit.

Cost is a factor. But I hate spending money on high priced electronics and have them not preform as expected. So any review would be greatly apprciated.

Re: Lowrance LMF-200 Digital guage

You can save yourself some money and use the Garmin GFS-10 on your existing Garmin plotter to cover fuel flow and fuel level and eliminate the need for the LMS-200.

Tabs are a feel thing. You can't set them to position X and expect them to perform the same each time. Therefore, the visual display of tab position is a waste of money from a performance standpoint. Putting it on a display where you have to flip back and forth between screens is even a bigger waste of money. If you must have a visual indication, go with the standalone Bennett TPI 2000 display or add the AC3000 auto tab control and let the control do the work so you can forget about the tabs altogether.
