I have a 125 1988,

i wanted to have a little more confidence in my fuel consumption and remaining fuel in the tank.

it indicates it has 0.5 ps1 per 20gallons per hour.

would that harm or restrict any fuel flow? has anyone used it?

any suggestions?

thanks

I wouldn't be concerned at all.

I have an older version of that sensor but it is on a completely different engine than yours.

I use mine more for running my engine to get the best MPG and never really did it for fuel remaining.

interesting thread - i know I go through 6-8 gallons each ski trip and we probably only ski 45 minutes. Interested to see your numbers.

The fuel remains function is dependent upon you entering the amount of fuel you put in the tank each time you get fuel. Fail to enter once and your done until you are empty to re-zero the system.

I've been operating in guesstimate mode for the last 4 years.

My built in tank took a crap shortly after I bought the boat.
I replaced it with an under dash 35gal.
It came with a sending unit(I never hooked up).
I just open the door and see how much is there.

My fishing trips are usually around 60-70 mi.
20mi. out(max)
15-20-30 moving from place to place.
Then 20 coming back in.
Not all trips are 20 out some are closer???

I usually burn 20-21 gal 25 at the most.

I figured it out and get about 2.2 to 2.4 mi per gal.

A lot depends on the speed out If I hammer it out it sucks up more.
I try to stay at 42-4400 and it seems to be the sweet spot.

I too love gadgets. But with more gadgets, there is more to screw up and go wrong. So you have to balance the gadget abilities verve the probability of failures. The more items on board, the higher the chance for something to quite working... Makes one wonder who would ever volunteer to get strapped into a suspect rocket and get shot out into space, doesn't it...?
