Dear Forum,

Anyone know how to disassemble a Lowrance 1240A in dash flasher? It was mentioned in a post that the face plate just turns off??? Not sure about this. Clockwise or counter clockwise? My neon light stopped working although the unit spun and the transducer made a clicking noise indicating that it was indeed working. I ended up tapping on the face plate in the dash and the bulb started to light again? Sounds like a cold solder joint, but Lowrance does not support this model anymore. Any input on this unit will be much appreciated!

Thank you,

Rick

Re: Lowrance 1240A in dash flasher

OK Forum, upon further investigation I think I now know how to disassemble the Lowrance 1240A in dash. You have to have the unit out of the mounting hole to do it. If you look at the backside of the faceplate you will see what look like locking fingers that must be depressed(all 3) and then the unit spins counterclockwise looking at the unit from the backside. The key is to make sure all 3 locking fingers are depressed before turning. What I will find underneath the faceplate is still a mystery to me as I have not taken it apart yet. If anyone has taken one apart to fix an intermittently glowing bulb please let me know what their fix was.

Thanks so much,

Rick
