Lower unit won't come off. 1963 65hp.

I have a 1963 65 hp mercury. I need to remove the lower unit to put in a new water pump impeller. I have removed all bolts but can't get the lower unit to separate form the motor. Any suggestions

if you can get it to drop down a little bit get some wood shims like used for installing doors and windows and slide in from each side keep tapping them in and adding
as necessary to keep the process moving, will eventually pop lose.
