Lower Unit Swap

I am selling my 1994 Yamaha 55 hp. Recently had it resealed and checked. I want to swap my 2006 Yamaha 50 hp lower unit that I'm keeping because the 55 hp is fresh and low hours. I can't get an interchange chart or a part guy to help at the marina. He said, "Bring it in." I need to know if they interchange. They look identical.

There's a big parts place that I can't mention here, sells lots of parts on line.
Find them and look up your motor and at the bottom of the page for your lower is a crossover section.
