Try putting the lower unit bolts back in loosely, start the motor and shift from forward to neutral and neutral to reverse a few times at idle speed and see if that loosens it up....You did disconnect the shift linkage, correct?

did u grease up the drive-shaft after last time?

if not u could have a seized drive-shaft on power-head

Even if the shift rod was still hooked up it would drop 1/2" or so. Good luck with it. Next time use waterproof grease instead of antisieze

Re: Lower Unit Stuck 200hp Johnson 1995

Get a couple of packs of wood framing shims from a lumber yard and work them in, opposing each other. Have them front and back so that you bring the unit down evenly.

If the motor has been sitting very long, you might have better luck if you button it back up and run the boat hard. That often will break the shaft free if rust is the problem.

Because of the heat and high friction, anti-seize products don't usually help. BRP/OMC Moly Lube will do the job: part #175356 in a 3.5 oz. tube.

If you put too much of any lubricant on the driveshaft, especially at the top, the driveshaft can hydraulically seize.

Re: Lower Unit Stuck 200hp Johnson 1995

here is some magic,

if its realy siezed i would get a holesaw and cut a hole in the
midsection.
then get a good saw blade and cut the driveshaft loose.
the lower unit drops.

lift the powerhead from the motor and bring it to a machineshop or a good mechanic. they might be able to remove the cut drive shaft. if you cant do it yourself.
next, get a new drive shaft and install it in the lu reseal it and install the waterpump, fix the hole in the midsection, instal the powerhead and put the lu back on with moly lube on the splines and the rubber o ring that will prevent water from splashing into the splines.

sorry no real magic

thats all.
