Lower unit shift rod

On an 81' 90hp evinrude model# E90TLCIM,Can any body tell me where to disconnet the shift rod so i can remove lower unit? any help would be great.

Look very closely under the bottom carburetor. You'll see a 3/8" hex head bolt (long shoulder bolt) that has a regular screwdriver slot in it which is retaining the shift rod.
