Lower unit removed...kinda

1996 Nissan NS8B (8hp 2stroke) ok guys I've been dealing with the dreaded stuck lower unit. After wedging and banging and all the glorious blessing that come along with it; the lower unit fell to the ground. Here is where the "kinda" comes in. Instead of the drive shaft coming loose from the power head and the lower unit coming all the way off, the drive shaft pulled through the top of the water pump housing, key and all! Now the drive shaft is still stuck in the power head and the lower unit is still attached via the shaft being connected at both ends. I've sprayed a can of PB Blaster down the shaft to loosen it up, that's not where the issue is. The question/issue is, did I mess anything in the gear case up by pulling the drive shaft through the water pump housing and how do I resolve this issue? Thanks in advance...

That's product of the near welded upper drive shaft splines against inside of crankshaft. Seen cases in which the drive shaft had to be cut in order to freed shaft, only possible if the shaft was visible right in middle lower middle and lower leg.

You have a horrible scenario at the moment...
