I've got a problem with my old Mercury 35hp twin. - Have experienced problems reach higher revs in forward gear.

Seems like the propeller has made contact with the lower unit, possibly due to some part missing in the assembly (made by previous owner). Need description of what parts there should be in the assembly - a drawing if possible...

gb@mm.se

Hello .
Taking the risk that this may sound stupid.
You might want to take of the prop and check if there is a whole lot of fishing line stuck on your shaft between the prop and the housing. That line is often the cause for what you just described.
good luck.

Re: Lower unit/propeller problems

Thanks for answer!
We've just taken the prop off and found out that it has actually eaten its way into the lower unit a bit, which reach us to the conclousion that there might be some part missing when the engine was assembled by the recent owner.
Should there, for example, be any bearing or other stuff between the prop and the lower untit? -

(by the way, is it possible to include pics in topics? - in that case i might try to get some later)
