lower unit oil

i have a 1987 55hp nissan. i want to change the lower unit gear oil but dont know what kind. i have looked for a manual online but cant find one anywhere. can you please tell me what type of oil to use.
also want to change out the tilt oil. what kind should i use for that also.

I would say Merc unit oil if it dark blue.

If its color is more Yellow then use volvo.

As far as the trim .. I think its just Hydrolic fluid.

I dont know for sure and my mech bro is not answering right now.

Any EP 85-90 gear oil.

The TT cylinder uses Dexron ATF.

The Tohatsu is the same as the Nissan and Tohatsu as an owner's manual on their website for the M55 2-stroke. Also on their Tech Info section there's a page which shows how to change the lower unit gear oil.
