Lower Unit Needed - Question

1989 125 HP force Lower Unit needed !<br /><br />1. Can I tell from other Force Motor Serial Numbers if their Lower Unit will Fit Mine - I know Force Made a couple of different lower units - mine is the one piece unit with the long shaft sticking up.<br /><br />2. Can I match a lower unit from any other HP Force Model, like a 85 HP<br /><br /><br />Not really interested in going 65 MPH - just want the boat to work again.

Hi Sprinter.<br />You should be able to use a lower unit from a 60hp, 85hp, or 125hp, from 1984-1989.<br /><br />all these should fit.<br />It will have a single exhaust snout just above the prop.<br />Any units that have the snout AND thru prop exhaust, will NOT fit.
