Lower unit long term storage

I couldn't get any results using the search function on this one.<br /><br />I just recently acquired a used lower unit as a backup for my 1974 Evinrude 85HP V4. Should I store this in my garage right side up? Or side ways with the plug screws facing up and fill up completely with lube?<br /><br />Thanks.

Fill it to the proper level with lube and store it in the "upright" position.
