Lower unit Honda 90 four stroke 1998

Will the lower unit for a 1999 Honda 90 4 stroke fit my 1998? I noticed the the lower unit grease screws is on opposite side? This new unit is marked fits 1999-2002, I hope I did not buy the wrong lower unit, the person I bought from is a boat dealer and said it will fit?

Merc made the early Honda 90 lower units and around that time Honda switched to their own. The easier way to tell is the water pump housing. The Merc one had a metal housing and the Honda one had a plastic one. They will not interchange.

And before you ask No you can not find a used mercury unit to put on there, Merc did make it but it is specific to the Honda.
