Hi, 1985 Johnson 140 hp / v6 gearcase, I filled gearcase with new hi-vis gearcase lube at the end of season, now after a cold winter, (today) I see a small lube drip from the prop. shaft area.... is this a warning of the O ring / seal going or from the cold temp.
Motor was in the full down position on boat, tarp covered What do you advise? thank-you

I would first check to see if you are in fact low, or if there is water intrusion.

If there is you will need to pressure test, or simply re seal the entire lu.

Just a thought-- Have you taken your prop off to check for fishing line?
Lots of folks toss their's overboard and it's a propshaft seal killer amongst other things. Could just be sludge like the last post said.
