I have Nissan 40C and NSF5A motors. I recently purchased a gear oil pump to facilitate changing lower unit gear lubricant. I need to use quarts. Locally I can buy Johnson (non-premium)gear lube which I presume is OK. I was wondering if any 80-90 wt. gear oil (not specifically marine), would work just as well.
