one member linked to this page in a different thread.

but there are 11 different pliers listed on this page, and their respective lengths are not given for all of them, and for the ones that are, it's hard to say which lengths are adequate.

looking for a VERY rare useage solution. thanks. i'm not beyond buying some long-reach needle nosers and grinding down the tip if that's what is called for.

Have have a few choices, one is to go to Napa and get some long snap ring pliers, 2 is to get long needle nose fro Harbor Freight, and the might work with out grinding. These are a few Ideas, but you can get long ratcheting snap ring pliers, that will lock into position. Good luck

SOLVED: lower unit budget truarc snap-ring plier solution?

i went with the cheapo, 11" long-reach needle nosed pliers. success! the first snap ring came out on the first try. the second one, was a little tougher. i ground a couple of notches into the tips of the pliers, so the ring would dig in and not pop out as easily. that, and i refined my technique while trying. these will MORE than do the trick for as infrequently as i plan on doing this job.

i did not get mine from the exact place in the link. i paid even less than what they charge, but after shipping, it was like $12. BUT, they must have been here in socal, because they were at my doorstep in less than 48 hours.

thanks for the tips, gang.
